backcountry skiing adventure begins with a ski into the beautiful
Heather Lake area of Lassen National Park to establish a comfortable
base camp.
Backcountry skiing instruction includes all ski touring techniques,
avalanche awareness and rescue basics, winter camp craft and
navigation with map, compass and GPS. And count on plenty
of turns, with a descent of Lassen Peak - the cascades most
southern active volcano.

Prerequisites: Required skiing
ability is strong intermediate on either fixed-heel alpine
touring (randonee) or (telemark) free-heel ski equipment.
Must be comfortable in non-groomed (powder and crud) conditions.
No previous backcountry experience is required.
