Joshua Tree Rock Climbing Vacations
Aid Climbing & Big Wall Seminar- 3 days

An all-inclusive rock climbing course for those looking to learn how to climb big walls. Located in the sunny high desert of Southern California at the world-class rock climbing arena of Joshua Tree National Park. Joshua Tree is a great place to learn aid climbing and big wall techniques on the smaller granite formations before venturing onto the big stone. The multitude of granite cracks provides an ideal classroom setting.

Taught by CAG owners Scott Brown & Dave Miller, both with years of yosemite big wall experience including numerous El Capitan grade VI in-a-day ascents. Scott is also a veteran of the Yosemite search and rescue team. They are happy to share their experience and secrets of success with you.

Aid climbing instruction includes 2,3 and 4 aider aid climbing techniques, specialized aid placements such as hooking and copperheads, cleaning pitches using ascenders and lead strategy. A full day will be spent covering big wall climbing logistics such as hauling, big wall bivies and rope managment. Throughout the course effecienct and fast climbing techniques will be empahisized.

Food & Camping on the all-inclusive option: All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included and prepared by your guide/camp chef. Two nights of camping are provided at a group site within Joshua Tree national Park and tents and group camping gear are included. Sleeping bag and pad rentals can be arranged for an extra fee. Your guide will be happy to share with you their local knowledge if you plan to spend more time rock climbing in Joshua Tree after the course.

Prerequisites: Participants should be able to lead 5.7 rock climbs. Familiarity with basic rock climbing protection and anchoring systems required.
