The Alps. The birthplace of alpinism and climbing in general.
In this amazing alpine climbing trip we embark on a journey
to climb the three most famous of the European Alps - The
fabled Matterhorn, The Eiger and Mont Blanc.
The adventure of a lifetime for any serious climber or alpinist.
We begin our journey in the alpine climbing mecca of Chamonix
under the shadow of Mont Blanc. We venture high into the French
Alps with a few spectacular warm up climbs before attempting
Mont Blanc, the highest point in Western Europe, via the Trois
Sommets Traverse.
After Mont Blanc, we Journey to the idyllic Swiss mountain
town of Zermatt for our climb of the world's most recognizable
mountain, The Matterhorn. After an optional warm up climb
of the Breithorn we prepare for our main objective. We climb
The Matterhorn via the Hornli Ridge, the first and most famous
route on The Matterhorn.
Then it's on to another classic Swiss village - Grindelwald,
Under the shadow the famous Eiger. After a train journey through
the inside of the Eiger North Face, we climb the Spectacular
Mittellegi Ridge to the summit of The Eiger.
All along the way we will sample fine French and Swiss food
and sample some of the rich and historical alpine climbing
culture. This trip is run at a very low guide-to-guest ratio
due to the nature and seriousness of the climbing. We also
allow a few extra days for ample rest and weather to allow
for a higher success rate. CAG/IAG owner and IFMGA/UIAGM internationally
certified guide Dave Miller will be personally leading the
2009 European climbs. Truly a spectacular and classic alpine
climbing trilogy.
