An alpine rock climbing course for those looking to take
their rock climbing skills onto the mulit-pitch routes of the high peaks. This is a comprehensive rock climbing course designed for those who wish to eventually lead their own rock routes high in the mountains.
Located in spectacular Sawtooth Range of the High Sierra,
we spend four informative days learning the ins and outs of
alpine style rock climbing in this technical rock climbing
course. From our base camp we will attempt two technical High
Sierra peaks via rock climbs in the 5.6 to 5.9 range.
Alpine rock climbing involves a special set of skills in addition
to those needed at the local crags and sport climbs. Rock
Climbing instruction includes:
- Alpine Rock Anchors & Protection Placement
- Multi-pitch Rock Climbing
- Alpine Rock Navigation & Route Finding
- Moving Fast & Being Efficient
- Self Rescue Techniques
This course is led by AMGA certified rock and alpine guides who
will be happy to share their many years of experience on the
technical rock climbs of the Sierra Nevada mountains with
you. Spending time with a qualified alpine rock guide is invaluable to safely devloping your alpine rock climbing skills.
The Sawtooth range provides the most spectacular alpine climbing
terrain in California. Only 5 hours from the S.F. Bay Area
and one hour from the resort town of Mammoth Lakes.

Prerequisites: Previous climbing
experience and the ability to follow face and crack rock climbs
up to 5.8 in difficulty is required.

Includes: Professional rock
climbing instruction from an AMGA certified rock climbing
guide. Breakfast & dinner while in the backcountry. Group
