Peru, Cordillera Blanca
High Altitude Expedition

Day 1:
Arrive in Huaraz by first-class bus from the capitol Lima. We stay at the Swiss-run hotel Andino, one of Huaraz's nicest


Day 2:
Acclimate in Huaraz and explore the town.(10,000 ft)


Day 3:
Travel by private van to Laguna Churup for an acclimating day hike (15,000) Overnight in Huaraz


Day 4:
Travel by private van to the Pastouri Glacier for acclimating and glacier skills (15,000). Overnight in Huaraz.


Day 5:
Huaraz rest day. Check out more the town has to offer and sample it's many restraunts.


Day 6:
We trek mule-supported from Pashpa to the Ishinca basecamp, a very scenic hike (14,435)


Day 7:
Rest and enjoy the Ishinca Valley while acclimating, maybe an easy day hike.


Day 8:
Either another rest and acclimating day or move camp to Ishinca High Camp at 16,000 ft.


Day 9:
summit attempt on Ishinca (18,142), with specatular views of the surrounding Cordillera Blanca. This climb is an easy one across a moderate glacier.


Day10:
Rest day at Isshinca Basecamp


Day11:
Travel to Tocclaraju high camp (17,060). A steep hike.


Day12:
summit attempt on Tocclaraju via NW Ridge (19,790), a little harder than Ishinca, this is real high altitude mountaineering. We then descend all the way back to Ishinca base camp.


Day13:
hike out to the trailhead with mule suoourt and back to Huaraz for a well deserved celebratory dinner and rest.


Day14:
Depart Huaraz for Lima via 1st class bus
