Day 1
We meet at the Mineral Lodge in the hamlet of Mineral at 9 am. After a pack check and gear discussion we have short drive to the trailhead where we begin our 4 mile ski into basecamp under the shawdow of Lassen Peak near beautiful Heather Lake. Along the way we will discuss avalance awareness and rescue basics with an avalanche transciever clinic. We spend the afternoon building a "bombproof" winter ski camp. If there's time we may sneak a few runs in near camp

Day 2
Getting an early start we will attempt a descent of Lassen Peak or more gentle terrain nearby according to the group's goals and desires. Along the way we will instruct in the basics of avalanche awareness and other backcountry skiing techniques.

Day 3
Another early start finds us getting in some more vertical on the many options near camp. The afternoon is spent breaking camp and skiing back to the trailhead. Usually we arrive at the cars by 4pm.
