| Experience the supreme solitude and beauty of backcountry
skiing with a professional backcountry ski guide. This three-day
backcountry skiing course begins with a ski into the beautiful
Virginia Lakes area of the Eastern Sierra Nevada to establish a comfortable
winter base camp and learn all about winter ski camping.
Backcountry skiing instruction includes all ski touring techniques,
avalanche awareness and rescue basics, winter camp craft and
navigation with map, compass and GPS. And count on plenty
of turns, with a descent of nearby peaks such as Dunderberg or Olsen Peaks. There are plenty of ski terrain options from gentle slopes to peak decents.
