A highly instructive rock climbing course for those looking
to learn how to climb big walls. Located in the Eastern Sierra and other locations around California, you will learn aid climbing and big wall techniques on
smaller formations before venturing onto the big stone.
Taught by CAG owner and IFMGA/UIAGM internationally certified mountain guide Dave Miller, who has
many years of yosemite big wall experience including numerous
El Capitan grade VI in-a-day ascents. He is happy to
share his experience and secrets of success with you. Dave can customize the instruction to suit your goals and abilities.
Aid climbing instruction includes 2,3 and 4 aider aid climbing
techniques, specialized aid placements such as hooking and
copperheads, cleaning pitches using ascenders and lead strategy.
A full day will be spent covering big wall climbing logistics
such as hauling, big wall bivies and rope managment. Throughout
the course, efficient and fast climbing techniques will be
empahisized.

Prerequisites: Participants
should be able to lead 5.7 rock climbs. Familiarity with basic
rock climbing protection and anchoring systems required.
