The European Alps - Grand Trilogy
France & Switzerland
Mont Blanc (15,781 ft)
The matterhorn (14,693 ft)
The Eiger (13,025 ft)

The Alps. The birthplace of alpinism and climbing in general. In this amazing French & Swiss alpine climbing trip we embark on a journey to climb the three most famous of the European Alps - The fabled Matterhorn, The Eiger and Mont Blanc.

The adventure of a lifetime for any serious climber or alpinist. We begin our journey in the alpine climbing mecca of Chamonix under the shadow of Mont Blanc. We venture high into the French Alps with a few spectacular warm up climbs before attempting Mont Blanc, the highest point in Western Europe, via the Three summits traverse or the standard Gouter Route.

After Mont Blanc, we Journey to the idyllic Swiss mountain town of Zermatt for a climb of the world's most recognizable mountain, The Swiss Matterhorn. After a warm up climb of the Breithorn Half Traverese we prepare for our main objective, the Matterhorn. We climb The Matterhorn via the Swiss Hornli Ridge, the first and most famous route on The Matterhorn.

Then it's on to another Swiss village in the Berner Overland, Grindelwald, under the shadow the famous Eiger North face. After a train journey through the inside of the Eiger North Face, we climb the Spectacular Mittellegi Ridge (east ridge) to the summit of The Eiger. Climbing the Eiger is a long and challenging day of climbing and a fitting end to the Alps trilogy trip.

Our itinerary is desinged to ease into the more difficult peaks. We begin with the easiest of the three, Mont Blanc and then move on to the Matterhorn and then then the most difficult of the three, The Eiger. Although Mont Blanc is actually the highest, doing this peak first (after acclimating and training climbs in Chamonix) allows you to tackle the other two peaks fully acclimated...a big plus.

All along the way we will sample fine French and Swiss food and sample some of the rich and historical alpine climbing culture. The Matterhorn and Eiger climbs are run at a 1:1 guide-to-guest ratio due to the nature and seriousness of the climbing. We also allow a few extra days for training climbs and weather to allow for a higher success rate.

We can handle all your in-country travel and lodging logistics allowing you to focus solely on the climbing. CAG/IAG owner and IFMGA/UIAGM internationally certified guide Dave Miller personally leads the European Alps climbs and will travel with you throughout the trip.

Truly a spectacular and classic European alpine climbing trilogy.
